PHILLIP CRAWLEY

CEO & PUBLISHER

Phillip Crawley oversees the strategy and operations of The Globe’s paper, websites, and magazines. Since 1998, he has guided The Globe to highly successful leadership in new media and online products. During his tenure, The Globe and its staff have been honoured by many organizations and won scores of National Newspaper Awards.

Phillip Crawley has held many senior executive positions with some of the world’s leading media companies around the world, including The New Zealand Herald, The South China Morning Post in Hong Kong, and The Times Supplements and The Daily Telegraph in London.

DAVID WALMSLEY

EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

David Walmsley was appointed editor-in-chief of The Globe and Mail in March 2014. His appointment returned him to The Globe where he previously worked as the Managing Editor and National Editor. Under his editorship, The Globe has won the Michener Award, National Newspaper Awards, top honours among an international field at the global Online Journalism Awards, and a series of Eppy awards recognizing digital excellence.

David previously held senior positions at the CBC, Toronto Star and National Post. He began his career at The Belfast Telegraph where he was named Northern Ireland Young Journalist of the Year in 1995.

SINCLAIR STEWART

DEPUTY EDITOR

Sinclair Stewart was appointed the Deputy Editor of The Globe and Mail in March 2006. In this role, he is responsible for day-to-day operations of The Globe’s newsroom and all content on all Globe platforms. Prior to assuming the role of Deputy Editor, Sinclair was the manager of news and sports at The Globe and Mail.

Stewart is a widely respected journalist and his long-form feature writing has been repeatedly recognized by the industry, including a National Newspaper Award in 2008 for his reporting of the financial crisis. He’s also the co-author of Wrong Way: The Fall of Conrad Black with Jacquie McNish, the award-winning national business book.
